On Wednesday, January 29, Chester College had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ángel Carracedo, a world-renowned researcher, physician, and professor, considered a leading authority in the field of Genetics. Based in Santiago de Compostela, Dr. Carracedo has built a distinguished career, and on this occasion, he shared his experiences and insights with our school community.
The event, open to the public, was designed to provide academic and career guidance for teenagers. It brought together a large audience of students, teachers, families, and others eager to learn more about the fascinating world of science and research. The talk, titled "Professional Careers in the Biosanitary Field," explored key aspects of pursuing careers in Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Psychology, and Forensic Science.

One of the most exciting moments of the conference was a live DNA extraction from a strawberry—a simple yet striking experiment that allowed students to see the fundamentals of Genetics in action.
