This is what they say about us

At Chester College International School in Santiago de Compostela, we believe the best way to understand who we are and what we do is through the voices of our students, parents, and alumni. Their testimonials, from our day and boarding academic year programs, language stays, and summer camps, reflect stories of personal growth and academic progress— achievements we are very proud of!

During our family's first year abroad, Chester College provided a remarkably warm and supportive environment for our son. The entire staff, from teachers to administration, welcomed us into the school community and educational experience. The well-rounded curriculum was excellent, but what truly stands out is how the teachers and staff went above and beyond to contribute to our son's personal growth. We are incredibly grateful for their care and dedication.

Year after year, the Summer Camp manages to ensure that, beyond learning English effectively, students go home each day elated, tired, and delightfully dirty from so much activity. Even more remarkable is that, by the end of the camp, all participants—of different ages, backgrounds, and personalities—come together as one close-knit group. It’s wonderful to see the genuine connections that form across ages and roles: among students, teachers, support staff, and parents alike. Forty years of continuous success speak for themselves!

This was the first internal camp experience for our children ages 9 and 15. The staff was caring and responsive. We were confident that our kids were safe and having fun each day. We highly recommend Chester College Summer Camp!

What an amazing experience for an English girl to be able share a residence and so many fun activities with girls her age. We were absolutely thrilled by Chester - second time running our daughter came back for 4 weeks instead of 2; with no regrets!

Last July (2025), I sent my twin 11-year-old daughters to Chester International College’s Spanish immersion program in Santiago, and we loved absolutely everything about the experience. The location in Santiago was ideal—this small, beautiful, and historic city created the perfect backdrop for both learning and exploration for our kids and us as parents. The program itself was wonderfully balanced: my girls were immersed in Spanish while also enjoying quintessential summer camp activities such as sports, swimming, theater, and fun after-school and weekend outings throughout the region. The variety kept them engaged and excited every single day. The campus felt idyllic—lush and garden-like. Each afternoon, the children enjoyed a fresh, nutritious lunch prepared by the kitchen staff and served in a beautiful garden beneath the grapevines. The staff was exceptionally friendly and supportive. They even helped us secure accommodations in the old city, which we absolutely loved. While we opted not to board our daughters this time, the school made staying off-campus seamless with their convenient door-to-door bus service. Boarding is something we would definitely consider in the future as they grow older. Overall, the program exceeded our expectations in every way—combining language immersion, cultural discovery, and fun in a safe, supportive environment. We couldn’t recommend it more highly. Added note: A wonderful bonus was reconnecting with our close family friends from Ireland, whose three daughters were also enrolled. With the kids happily at school each day, us parents had plenty of time to work remotely while exploring the city and surrounding areas together.

I really enjoyed my time at Chester College’s Spanish summer camp. It was really something special boarding with people so different from myself, as much as this was a learning experience for me it also opened my mind to the rich culture of Galicia and of Spain as a whole. The daily lessons really pushed me to become more potent in the Spanish language and I can confidently say that this helped me in my other academic activities. Thanks for the memories!

For our children, Catalina and César, their experience at Chester —now for the fourth year— has been fantastic. The coexistence, the way challenges are handled, and the excitement of preparing the musical help them progress not only in their English but, above all, in their ability to face challenges and live together with others. As parents, we are truly grateful to all the Chester staff for the wonderful care our children receive every July.

We all love Chester College's Summer Camp —both the children and the families! The kids learn English while enjoying sports, excursions, swimming, and musical rehearsals, and we parents have a great time watching the wonderful final musical performance. Highly recommended!

Chester College's English immersion summer camp has been an amazing experience for my 12 year old son. He has had a great time and above all he has been able to practice and improve his English not only through studying, but also by playing and sharing experiences with other children... with specialised staff, within a wonderful environment. The Chester is in a dream location and we can't thank you enough for all the fun he has had in the pool! We only have words of thanks and we will definitely come back! I recommend it 100%. I wish I could have had this experience when I was his age!

Chester is a wonderful community! My teenage son went to the Spanish summer camp and had a great time, in such a family atmosphere... He loved it and is looking forward to next year. Highly recommended.

The staff are incredibly dedicated and go the extra mile, and each student receives lots of personal attention and support. The school is located on a large estate and the children love being outdoors in nature every day.

The Chester College educational project is a magnificent example of what should be central to the current education of all young people today: a combination of closeness/family atmosphere, defense of ethical values and very up-to-date pedagogical methods. Moreover, Chester is located on a very peaceful and quiet estate, an aspect that contributes to inner peace and a spirit of harmony and cooperation in social dynamics.

I had an absolutely amazing time this year as a Chester summer camp resident! I have improved my Spanish so much in engaging classes and have made really close friends of all ages and backgrounds through fun sports activities and trips. I have specially loved being a resident as this has allowed me to have lots of fun in the evenings as well with my room mates. I can't wait to return to Chester next year!

Thank you very much for every care and hospitality you showered on me during my stay in your school which left deep impressions on me. Santiago has beautiful scenery and a clean and tidy environment. Although a small city, it enjoys rich cultural heritage. With the guidance of my teachers in your school, I gradually learnt the Galician culture and the unique features of Spain. I loved my teachers who cared so much about me. Among the activities the school organised, the abundant sports activities fascinated me. Moreover, I’m very grateful to the school for finding me a very friendly host family. They always asked me what I needed. If I have time, I will definitely come to the summer camp the next year! Thanks for taking care of me for so many days!

Our daughter (14) really loved her 2 weeks at Chester Spanish camp and is keen to return - maybe for longer- next year. Great activities and teaching and really fun. Well organised too. We are huge fans.

I have never doubted that my child would be in very good hands at Chester College. I know the school, I know people who work there. There is no lack of experience, attention and care. Everything is very well organized. And children are very well taken care of. I recommend Chester College's Summer Camps!

We absolutely loved Chester International Summer Camp for Spanish. Our two American children made friends from Spain, Ireland, Portugal, France, and England and learned from the best Spanish teacher they have ever had (and they've had many)!
