It is also a affiliated since 1994 with the Mediterranean Association of International Schools (MAIS). MAIS is professional organisation that strives to improve the quality of education in its Member schools. It promotes the professional development of Faculty, Administrators, and School Board Members, effects communication and interchange, and creates international understanding. Currently, MAIS is composed of schools in Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Cyprus.
Chester College International School was purpose-built in 1984. It is situated 3 km from Santiago de Compostela and stands on a hill in spacious green grounds overlooking the wide Ulla valley.
There are 8 classrooms, a central hall, a Science laboratory, an Art room, a Music room, a Computer room, a library, two football pitches, a tennis/basketball court and a large outdoor swimming pool.
